Amanda Seyfried, star of Summit Entertainment’s upcoming “Letters to Juliet,” will be honored at ShoWest as breakthrough female star of the year.
Seyfried, who most recently starred in Sony’s “Dear John,” will be feted Thursday at an awards gala set to close the annual exhibition confab. ShoWest opens Monday at the Bally’s and Paris hotels in Las Vegas.
“The diversity in the characters Seyfried has portrayed and the strength of her performances — from the airhead in ‘Mean Girls’ to the singing dreamer in ‘Mamma Mia!’ — have quickly made her a hot young film actress in recent years,” ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said.
“Juliet” will screen Tuesday at ShoWest.

Big Love” and Jennifer’s Body star Amanda Seyfried confirmed tonight in a red carpet interview with E! at the Oscars that she will indeed be starring in Twilight helmer Catherine Hardwicke’s The Girl With the Red Riding Hood for Warner Bros.
The Girl with the Red Riding Hood written by David Johnson (Orphan) is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood fairy tale, that we can only hope comes sans any sparkling entities and or underwearwolves. Oh, who are we kidding? We know that they will be there. Either way, we’ll be watching and hoping for the best. The original fairy tales by The Brother’s Grimm were deliciously dark so keep your fingers crossed that at least some of that content makes it in.

I haven’t had a chance to watch the preshow yet but I will try to have the interview up if I can

And secondly Amanda is sharing a triple cover for Glamour US for the month of April, and is also the cover girl for Glamour UK in April.
Big Love” and Jennifer’s Body star Amanda Seyfried is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s go-to girls, and with good reason — she brings a freshness to even the most mundane of roles. Good thing for us she’s looking to continue to work within the genre.
The LA Times reports that Warner Bros. appears to be making strides toward getting its own Gothic story of werewolves and young-women-in-peril closer to the screen with Twilight director Catherine Harwicke at the helm. Seems like a safe enough bet to rake in the tweener dough, no?
The Girl with the Red Riding Hood is picking up momentum and has gotten itself a shiny new script written by David Johnson (Orphan). Seyfried is without question the frontrunner to topline the project, which is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood fairy tale. According to the Times Warner needs to go into production soon if they’re going to keep Hardwicke on board.

Reminder for now this is just hollywood rumors, and talk, but we will be sure to let you know if/when it becomes an official role for Amanda!
IFC Films has announced that it has acquired North American rights to Duncan Ward’s “Boogie Woogie.” They will release the film theatrically on April 23rd and nationwide on video on demand beginning April 21st.
Adapted by Danny Moynihan from his novel of the same name, “Boogie Woogie” is a satire set against the backdrop of the contemporary London art scene where lust, ambition and power prevail while success and failure precariously balance on a knife edge. The film features an ensemble cast including established stars Danny Huston, Stellan Skarsgard, Heather Graham, Alan Cumming, Christopher Lee, Charlotte Rampling, Amanda Seyfried, Jaime Winstone and Jack Huston. The film premiered last year at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The film is an Autonomous/Colourframe Production with S Films, in association with Constance Media, Firefly Films, Muse Productions, P&C Arcade Films and Magna Films. It was produced by Cat Villiers, Chris Simon, Kami Naghdi and Danny Moynihan.
The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, IFC Films VP of Acquisitions and Co-Productions.
“Duncan Ward and Danny Moynihan have crafted a satirical and hilarious Altman-esque send-up of an art world gone mad,” Jonathan Sehring, President of IFC Entertainment, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with the extraordinary cast and filmmakers of ‘Boogie Woogie’ and our friends at The Works. This is a great film for all of our platforms and we are incredibly excited by its prospects.”

The film adaptation of Benni and Bjorn’s musical hit, Mamma Mia!, was absolutely massive when it was released. At one point, it threatened to drown the world in ABBA songs. It’s the biggest selling DVD of all time in the UK. Can so many people be wrong? Anyway, Empire asked actor Pierce Brosnan (beautiful singing voice: not) during press rounds for Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief if rumours were true of sequel talk – and he had this to say:
“”No, I don’t think that’s happening”.
Cat out of the bag or what? Does a sequel really need to happen? Just because a film is ridiculously successful (and ridiculous), it doesn’t mean automatic sequel treatment. Adding to this, Meryl Streep last month told Showbizspy:
“I heard that they were talking about it, but I am not sure it’s real, it’s not anything I’m on the inside track of. No one has told me anything yet”.
Another cause to think this isn’t happening. Oh and that Benni Anderson has said any sequel will NOT have any ABBA songs in there. Although, hope clearly springs eternal for Amanda Seyfried who saidthe film was going ahead.
So can we safely file this under “definitely not happening”? After all, you’d think the major talent would be “in the loop”. Now it’ll the first film played on DVD until the end of time – and don’t forget to sing along.

Amanda has already stated that if this were to happen there is a good chance her character of Sophie wouldn’t be included anyways.

Mamma Mia! Next season, HBO’s Big Love will be minus one Henrickson. Following her success in 2008’s “Mamma Mia!,” Amanda Seyfried, who has played Bill Paxton’s eldest child, Sarah, since the polygamist drama debuted in 2006, is embracing her Hollywood ‘It girl’ status to pursue films full-time.
“She’s been exploring her movie career for a couple of years now, and we’ve been giving her a lot of room to do that,” says Big Love creator Will Scheffer. “I know having a commitment to a show for six months definitely cuts into her ability to pursue that career.”
As a result, the series is allowing Seyfried to leave at season’s end. In the eighth episode of this season’s nine new installments, Sarah will leave the flock, Scheffer confirms. “She’s moving away.”
But before then, she’ll have plenty to do in Utah. As I previously reported, her character will be getting married in the third episode, which causes some drama involving her disappointed parents, Bill (Paxton) and Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn).
Seyfried, who got her start on the daytime soaps As The World Turns and All My Children, has been hotly pursued by film producers ever since winning the role of Meryl Streep’s daughter in “Mamma Mia!” This year, she starred with Megan Fox in Diablo Cody’s “Jennifer’s Body,” and had the title role in the Liam Neeson/Julianne Moore drama, “Chloe.” Upcoming starring roles include Lasse Hallstrom’s “Dear John,” “Letters to Juliet” with Gael Garcia Bernal and “A Woman of No Importance,” based on Oscar Wilde’s play.
Big Love’s fourth season premieres on HBO January 10. (Source)
