‘Jennifer’s Body’ Part of Midnight Madness at Toronto Film Festival
Written by Becca on July 22, 2009

Jennifer’s Body is not just highlighting the Midnight Madness line-up at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, it’s kicking off the series. There are, naturally, a lot of movies with big online followings, and this is another example of why Toronto is the best programmed film festival out there. If you have to go to one, choose this over Sundance any day. Especially, you know, a day in January.

Body stars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried and was written by Diablo Cody. I’m sure it doesn’t need much more of an introduction. The Midnight Madness series also features the latest George Romero zombie movie and Ong Bak 2 from Tony Jaa. Here’s the full schedule, cribbed from the TIFF site:

September 10th – Jennifer’s Body
Karyn Kusama, USA
Jennifer’s Body tells the story of small-town high-school student Jennifer (Megan Fox) who is possessed by a hungry demon and transitions from being “high school evil” —gorgeous (and doesn’t she know it), stuck up and ultra-attitudinal—to the real deal: evil/evil. The glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly creature jonesing for a meaty snack, and guys who never stood a chance with the heartless babe take on new lustre in the light of her insatiable appetite.

Meanwhile, Jennifer’s best friend, Needy (Amanda Seyfried), long relegated to living in Jennifer’s shadow, must step-up to protect the town’s young men, including her nerdy boyfriend Chip (Johnny Simmons). Written and executive produced by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody.
