‘Jennifer’s Body’ Part of Midnight Madness at Toronto Film Festival
Written by Becca on July 22nd, 2009

Jennifer’s Body is not just highlighting the Midnight Madness line-up at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, it’s kicking off the series. There are, naturally, a lot of movies with big online followings, and this is another example of why Toronto is the best programmed film festival out there. If you have to go to one, choose this over Sundance any day. Especially, you know, a day in January.

Body stars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried and was written by Diablo Cody. I’m sure it doesn’t need much more of an introduction. The Midnight Madness series also features the latest George Romero zombie movie and Ong Bak 2 from Tony Jaa. Here’s the full schedule, cribbed from the TIFF site:

September 10th – Jennifer’s Body
Karyn Kusama, USA
Jennifer’s Body tells the story of small-town high-school student Jennifer (Megan Fox) who is possessed by a hungry demon and transitions from being “high school evil” —gorgeous (and doesn’t she know it), stuck up and ultra-attitudinal—to the real deal: evil/evil. The glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly creature jonesing for a meaty snack, and guys who never stood a chance with the heartless babe take on new lustre in the light of her insatiable appetite.

Meanwhile, Jennifer’s best friend, Needy (Amanda Seyfried), long relegated to living in Jennifer’s shadow, must step-up to protect the town’s young men, including her nerdy boyfriend Chip (Johnny Simmons). Written and executive produced by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody.

“Jennifer’s Body” Red Band Trailer
Written by Michelle on July 7th, 2009

ShockTilYouDrop.Com has posted the red band trailer of Jennifer’s Body. Read the details below!

She took on wise-crackin’, leg-humpin’ robots in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and now Megan Fox is wielding a voracious appetite and going head-to-head with Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer’s Body, 20th Century Fox’s horror offering arriving on September 18th. Screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno) whipped up this hellish tale about a high school cheerleader (Fox), screwed over by a visiting rock band, who becomes possessed by a demon and begins to feed off of the fellas in her town.

In a ShockTillYouDrop.com exclusive, we’ve got your first look at the red band trailer. ‘Tis right, your first ever peek at the film before a green band trailer strikes soon. Here, director Karyn Kusama, Cody and producer Jason Reitman can explain…

“Fox is putting a trailer of Jennifer’s Body in front of Bruno this Friday. Great, right? Only problem is it’s not our trailer. It’s kind of a straight horror preview and while we’re sure it’ll appeal to many of you, we wanted to make sure you guys got to see our cut… Lets call it the “filmmaker’s cut”. We think it captures the comedy and scares of the horror films we grew up on – a kind of nostalgia for when horror films were fun. Can’t wait to show you the whole film… In the meantime, here’s the red band trailer we wanted our fans to see.”
